She’s been dating Tristan Thompson for just 18 months but Khloe Kardashian knew straight away that she’d found ‘the one’.
The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star, who is expecting her first child with the NBA star in a matter of weeks, has dished on how she took the relationship slowly after making sure they wanted the same things.
Writing on her website Khloewithak.com Khloe, 33, revealed: ‘I knew Tristan was the one very quickly—I have never felt so comfortable or so safe with someone.
‘Because of that, I took it very slowly and was cautious about how I went about “us.” I made sure we had very in-depth conversations. I wanted to make sure that those conversations were backed up by actions.’
Khloe revealed she wasn’t afraid to talk about the tough subjects with Tristan including religion and children.
She wrote: ‘Tristan was so forthcoming with his life, as I was with mine. It was really reassuring to feel that someone had the same belief systems as I did. We shared the same principles and morals.
‘We spoke about religion, children and our families. I think all of those things are important to truly know the ins and outs of someone.’ she added.
Khloe then explained that while she thinks it’s easy to fall in love during the honeymoon phase of a relationship, to make it long-lasting you have to talk about the ‘logistics of life’.
The E! star finished her post by adding that she feels there still must be ‘chemistry and energy’ between two people but with a foundation ‘for when the honeymoon phase is over’.
It was first revealed back in September 2017 that Khloe was expecting her first child with Tristan, 26, and she confirmed the news in December.
The Cleveland Cavaliers player already has a one-year-old son named Prince Oliver from his previous relationship with ex Jordan Craig.
Khloe and Tristan were first rumored to be dating in August 2016 before taking a trip to Mexico together the following month.
‘I’m in the best relationship I’ve ever been in and it doesn’t take a ring for me to feel that way,’ Khloe told The Mail on Sunday’s You magazine in August 2017.
‘My boyfriend is very protective of me. Feeling loved and validated and secure is a huge thing. Tristan is protective of my entire family, which is beautiful.’
